Patch
1 min 34 sec | experimental stop-motion animation
Patch draws inspiration from textiles, translating woven patterns into animated movement through iterative fabrication. Starting with cut-paper explorations—layer after layer, shape after shape— the film examines how woven textures can be rebuilt, deconstructed, and remade into dynamic motion.
The stop-motion animation unfolds like a living fabric—shapes shifting, interlocking, and unraveling in continuous transformation—each stage reflecting a version-history of refinement and rhythm.
This process-based work is deeply rooted in craft: every curve, every patterned cut, every frame of animation bears the trace of the artist’s hand and the persistence of making.
Includes original music by Shaun Griffiths.
